Description
Classic Design
With is timeless, vintage design, including top and bottom plates milled from single pieces of aluminium and a beautiful satin finish, the Fujifilm X100V is a truly refined and classically designed camera that remains comfortable to hold for long periods.
Durability
Using the optional AR-X100 adaptor ring and the PRF-49 protection filter in conjunction with its brand-new fixed lens allows the X100V to become the first weatherproof camera in the X series. This means photographers can continue shooting beautiful compositions regardless of adverse weather conditions.
Intuitive Controls
With analogue inspired controls, photographers can quickly and easily change the exposure compensation and shutter speed, allowing for on-the-fly adjustments and enabling a more fluid and immersive image-making experience.
Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder
An improved advanced hybrid viewfinder allows photographers to seamlessly switch between the optical viewfinder’s 0.52x magnification and the 3.69 million dot OLED electronic viewfinder.
The optical viewfinder (OVF) eliminates surrounding distractions and allows you to focus on your composition, offering 95% frame coverage with parallax-correcting frame lines, displaying your subject in vivid detail. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) provides a real-time representation of the image as it is being captured — displaying the photo once it has been taken and giving an indication of what it will look like in postproduction.
Two-Way Tilting LCD Touchscreen
A two-way tilting LCF touchscreen makes framing a composition perfectly even easier, making the negotiation of high and low angles more achievable and offering intuitive touch controls for quick operation — including adjusting settings and choosing where to focus within the frame. When this tilting LCD screen is not in use it simply slots into its recess to maintain its sleek design and exceptional levels of portability.
Cutting-Edge Image-Making Technologies
Featuring a wide variety of cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance and simplify the image-making process, the combination of the X-Trans CMOS 4 back-side illuminated sensor and the X-Processor 4 quad-core CPU at the very heart of the X100V ensures high-quality photographs, superfast operating speeds, and incredibly precise autofocus capabilities — even in extremely low-light conditions.
The X-Trans CMOS 4 26.1MP sensor uses a back-side illuminated design to maximise the X100V’s image quality and dynamic range; while a unique colour filter array controls moiré (the optical phenomenon that produces unwanted patterns in digital images when two patterns with similar frequencies interact) and false colour without the need for an optical low pass filter.
The X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor’s performance is enhanced further by the X-Processor 4: a powerful CPU that ensures lightning-fast and smooth processing of all images captured on the X100V, all-the-while boosting the autofocus through its newly developed AF algorithm and allowing images to be captured in lighting conditions as dark as -5EV.
Newly Designed 23mm Fixed Lens
A newly designed 23mmF2 fixed lens is included to maximise the X100V’s resolution, minimise distortion, and improve its close focusing distance, all while remaining compact enough to maintain its portability and compatibility with existing lens accessories.
Best-in-Class Autofocus
With best-in-class autofocus capabilities, the X100V features enhanced face and eye detection, in which phase detection autofocus pixels are placed across the image sensor, working in tandem with the X-Processor 4 and improved AF algorithm to enhance the AF performance when focusing on people moving within the frame and people facing sideways.
Its Focus Limiter Function is used to set the X100V’s lens to a specific range of distances to allow for a much faster AF performance — particularly useful when the approximate distance to the subject is consistent and high-speed autofocus is required.
Battery Life
The X100V’s battery is good for approx. 350 frame per charge when using the EVF or approx. 420 frames when using the OVF. When it comes to video, the battery will last approx. 55 mins for 4K video recording and approx. 75 mins for Full-HD recording — keeping photographers and videographers shooting with confidence.
Film Simulation Modes
Utilising Fujifilm’s 85+ years of expertise in colour science, the X100V offers multiple Film Simulation modes, each of which offer specially formulated depth, saturation, and tonality that requires little to no postproduction adjustment. These Film Simulations provide photographers and videographers with greater creative freedom, achieving a unique feel and style to their images that is tailored to their preferences. Each simulation will reproduce colours and tones from Fujifilm’s most popular analogue films and photo finishing processes. See below to find out what each Film Simulation can do.
Provia/Standard | A reversal film designed for professional use. Caters for all subject types offering a relatively neutral colour reproduction. |
Velvia/Vivid | An ultra-vivid reversal film designed for professionals, providing richer and more high-contrast colours than the standard PROVIA/STANDARD normally used by landscape photographers. |
Astia/Soft | A reversal film designed for fashion portrait photographers that prioritises soft and faithful reproduction of skin tones, whilst reproducing vivid blue skies and greenery. |
Classic Chrome | Designed to reproduce the look and feel of 20th century documentary publications. This mode provides low-saturation and hard tonal gradation in shadows. |
Pro Neg. Hi | Provides slightly harder tonal gradation than the PRO Neg. Standard and is mainly used for portrait photography where lighting is not easily controlled, providing the right amount of shadows, even under flat lighting. |
Pro Neg. Std | Offers a soft tonal gradation and excellent skin tone reproduction, making it ideal for portrait photography under carefully controlled lighting. Its neutral tonality renders itself well to post-production. |
Classic Neg | Provides high-contrast tonal gradations, adding depth and definition to colours by adjusting their shades and shadows while reducing saturation. |
Eterna/Cinema | Designed for motion pictures, this mode minimises saturation to ensure none of the colour stand out, therefore providing an extremely soft tonal gradation in highlights and deep shadows and thus preventing clipping and producing a cinematic look. |
Acros | Delivers rich shadow details and excellent sharpness, while adding grain at high ISOs, producing the textural feel of monochrome films. (Also available as Acros+R Filter, Acros+Ye Filter, and Acros+G Filter with Red, Yellow, and Green filters) |
Monochrome | Shoots in black and white and is available with yellow, red, and green filters to deepen shades of grey corresponding to hues complementary to the selected colour. (Also available as Monochrome+R Filter, Monochrome+Ye Filter, and Monochrome+G Filter with Red, Yellow, and Green filters) |
Sepia | Lends a truly classic feel to your images, adding a warm tone across the frame for a sense of nostalgia. |
Movie Mode
As well as producing beautiful, vivid, and highly-detailed still images, the Fujifilm X100V is also capable of 4K/30p video recording — meaning you can experience all of your favourite memories in incredible quality. Plus, with Full-HD/120p super-slow-motion recording, you can even create dramatic, cinematic videos without losing any image quality.
