Clarity in Sight, Responsibility in Action: Announcing a multi-year partnership with The British Deer Society
Thomas Jacks is proud to announce a multi-year partnership with the British Deer Society, providing the charity with Pulsar thermal imaging and digital night vision technology, along with Spypoint wireless trail cameras, to aid their efforts in promoting responsible, ethical deer stewardship.
Together, Thomas Jacks and the British Deer Society aim to offer new perspectives when it comes to deer ecology, providing the public with a deeper insight into deer behaviour (and other wildlife) through the use of thermal imaging and wireless cameras.
By providing these devices, the charity’s deer managers will be able to complement their skills with cutting-edge technology, ensuring they are more than capable of upholding the highest levels of welfare and safety standards.
About The British Deer Society
The British Deer Society is the only charity in the UK dedicated to the welfare of wild deer. They are a small team of passionate and dedicated staff, with a wide network of supporters, who strive to educate and inspire people about deer by highlighting the importance of evidence-based deer management. At the heart of what they do can be found a steadfast belief in championing deer welfare.
The British Deer Society strives to see a United Kingdom in which wild deer are valued and respected, face minimal threats to their welfare, and thrive in harmony with their environment.
To help make their vision a reality, the British Deer Society has launched a long-term “Together For Deer” strategy, in which they aim to become the leading voices in ethics and welfare; the leading providers of unbiased educational resources and deer management training; and the leading body for monitoring and research that provides effective solutions for the protection of deer welfare and management.
Clarity & Certainty Through Pulsar Devices
By providing the charity with Pulsar’s thermal imaging and digital night vision devices, the charity can provide candidates on their BDS DMQ Night Shooting Courses with the opportunity to get hands-on with Pulsar thermal imaging and digital night vision devices. This practical experience will provide them with a valuable understanding of what thermal imaging and digital night vision optics can achieve in terms of accuracy and safety when it comes to deer management.

Pulsar is well-known as an industry-leader when it comes to premium optics, with devices designed to provide outstanding image clarity and thermal sensitivity — providing users with exceptional detection and identification capabilities, day- and night and in any weather conditions. Aligning this high-quality equipment with the charity’s high-quality standards helps to emphasise the importance of accuracy and certainty when it comes to ethical deer management.
Education & Inspiration Through Spypoint Wireless Trail Cameras
Spypoint wireless trail cameras are designed to ensure their users are always in-the-know when it comes to activity within their observation area, using motion activated camera with lightning-fast triggers speeds to capture high-definition images and videos.
Using these Spypoint cameras, the British Deer Society aims to capture footage of deer in their natural habitats across the UK in order to educate and inspire the public. They will use the footage to support their myriad educational efforts, including educational films and online learning courses; school and youth outreach materials; public talks and social media campaigns; and citizen science projects and habitat monitoring.

Through the use of these cameras, Thomas Jacks and the British Deer Society aim to inspire the public to take part in monitoring and recording of deer in their natural habitat, and to share the same passion for deer that the charity strives to champion.
Moving Forward: Demo Events and Promotions
As we enter into this exciting new partnership, Thomas Jacks will strive, over the next few years, to highlight the importance of responsible and ethical deer stewardship by providing the charity with high-quality technology and kit.
We will use the channels available to us, including the Thomas Jacks and Pulsar Vision social media pages and the blog pages on multiple Thomas Jacks websites, to promote this partnership and educate the public.
