Introducing Stream Vision Ballistics to the Digex C50 and Thermion Duo Series

The release of firmware update 3.3 for Digex and Thermion Duo models introduces ballistic calculations to some of the most popular riflescopes in the Pulsar range without built-in rangefinders, with Stream Vision Ballistics now compatible with the Digex C50 digital night vision riflescope and the Thermion Duo DXP50 & DXP55 multispectral riflescopes.

This is the latest addition to a series of firmware updates rolled out for non-LRF models, with previous iterations made available for the Thermion 2 series, making Stream Vision Ballistics available on an even wider range of devices, and ensuring greater accuracy across some time-tested favourites.

Please note, however, that Digex C50 models without Wi-Fi are not compatible as they do not support Bluetooth connectivity and therefore ballistic profiles created in Stream Vision Ballistics are not transferable to the riflescope.

Please also be aware that, in order to achieve the greatest possible level of accuracy and safety, when using Stream Vision Ballistics with the Thermion Duo DXP50/DXP55, both thermal and digital channels must be zeroes separately.

Enabling Ballistic Calculations

Using the Stream Vision Ballistics app with the Thermion Duo and Digex C50 riflescopes is simple. To start, you will need to update your device to the newest firmware version (3.3) through the Stream Vision 2 app, after which you will be able to connect to the Stream Vision Ballistics app via Bluetooth. Once this is done, you will be able to create up to ten ballistic profiles in-app, uploading them directly to your riflescope when complete.

Once these profiles have been uploaded, you are free to disconnect from Bluetooth; the ballistic calculations will still be available within your riflescope without needing to remain connected.

Move through to the device’s long menu and select your desired profile, switch through to the short menu and manually input the preferred distance to the target. For example, you can measure the distance using a handheld rangefinder. Ballistic calculations are made within the riflescope and the suggested point of aim is instantly made visible on the device’s screen.

Bluetooth Remote Control

The addition of Bluetooth connectivity within these devices now allows for connection to a Pulsar BT Wireless Remote Control, seamlessly mimicking the device’s controls over digital functions and allows for distraction free operation.

Reduced Eye Fatigue

Along with the introduction of ballistic calculations, Pulsar have also focused on user comfort, with firmware update 3.3 introducing brightness control. This feature allows you to reduce the occurrence of eye fatigue and the likelihood of an animal spotting you when you need to remain covert through the ability to dim brightness of all display elements.

Enhanced Power Efficiency

The last thing you want to worry about in the field is running out of power. With the release of this firmware update, Digex C50 and Thermion Duo devices now feature a new power saving feature which will automatically switch the device off when it has not been used for more than 30 minutes and ensure no unnecessary battery drain occurs. This option can be activated/deactivated in the main menu.
